Refund policy

1. Overview

We want you to be happy with every purchase. If, for any reason, you wish to return a standard, non-faulty item, you may do so under our 14-day return policy (UK/Rest of World) or the EU’s 14-day “cooling-off” right (for orders shipped into the European Union). Please read on for details about eligibility, timelines, and who pays return shipping.


2. Change-of-Mind Returns (Customer-Paid Postage)

2.1 Eligibility

  • You have 14 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.

  • If your order ships into the European Union, you also have 14 days from the date you receive your item to cancel or return for any reason (EU consumers only).

  • The item must be in the same, unused condition you received it—unworn or unmarked, with tags still attached, and in its original packaging.

  • You must provide your receipt or proof of purchase (order number, packing slip, etc.) when you request a return.

2.2 How to Start a Return

  1. Email us at info@sovereigncomics.co.uk with:

    • Order number

    • Date you received the item

    • A brief reason for return (optional, but helps us improve).

  2. Once your return is approved, we will send you instructions on where to return the item.

  3. You (the customer) are responsible for arranging and paying the return postage. We recommend using a tracked shipping service.

  4. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

2.3 Return Address

Important: Unless the return is due to a fault or mis-description (see Section 3), you must cover the cost of postage.

2.4 Refunds

  • After we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether your refund is approved.

  • If approved, we will process the refund to your original payment method within 14 calendar days of receiving the returned item or proof of postage. (Your bank or credit-card issuer may take additional days to post the refund to your account.)

  • We will refund the full purchase price of the item. We do not refund the original outbound shipping cost or the return postage (unless the item is faulty—see Section 3).

  • If more than 14 calendar days have passed since approval of your return and you have not received your refund, please email us at info@sovereigncomics.co.uk.


3. Faulty, Damaged, or Mis-described Items (Seller-Paid Postage)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a full refund (including postage costs) if an item:

  • Arrives damaged or in a defective condition.

  • Is wrong (we sent you the incorrect title or variant).

  • Is materially different from its description (e.g. incorrect pages, misprint).

3.1 Reporting a Fault

  1. Inspect your order immediately upon receipt.

  2. Email us within 14 days of delivery at info@sovereigncomics.co.uk, including photos that clearly show the damage or defect.

  3. We will review your complaint and, if warranted, send you a pre-paid return label (via Royal Mail or DPD) so you can send the item back at no cost.

3.2 Replacement or Refund

  • Once we receive the returned, faulty item, we will either:

    1. Replace it with a correct, non-defective copy (no additional charge), or

    2. Issue a full refund (item + all shipping costs).

  • If you choose a refund, we will process it to your original payment method within 14 calendar days of receiving the faulty item.


4. Exceptions & Non-returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for returns (unless faulty):

  • Customised or personalised products (every copy is made to your specification).

  • Perishable goods (e.g. food, flowers, plants).

  • Sale items or gift cards.

5. Exchanges

If you would like a different title or variant instead of a straight refund, please follow the return process in Section 2 and place a new order for the replacement item. Once we receive and approve your returned item, we will issue your refund so you can purchase the correct comic.


6. European Union Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off)

  • Scope: Applies only to shipments delivered to EU addresses.

  • You have 14 days from the day after delivery to cancel your order for any reason.

  • To exercise this right, email info@sovereigncomics.co.uk with your order number and intent to cancel.

  • You must return the item (unused, with tags, in original packaging) at your own cost, unless it is faulty.

  • We will refund the full price of the item (but not the outbound shipping fee) within 14 calendar days of receiving the returned item or proof of postage.
